The International Federation for Ibogaine Providers (IFIP) is a global network of individuals, clinics, and organizations dedicated to the thoughtful use of the West-African shrub, Tabernanthe Iboga, and its derivatives for the treatment of addiction and enhanced psychological well being. Iboga has a long history of ceremonial use in healing and rites of passage. In modern society, a growing body of research and reports propose Ibogaine, one of its active molecules, as a highly promising tool in the therapy and recovery from drug dependence —promptly alleviating opioid withdrawal and reducing craving for substances such as stimulants, opioids, alcohol and nicotine, during several weeks to months— and psychotherapy.
It is our belief that iboga's extraordinary properties should be available to anyone in need if they fit the inclusion criteria. To this end, we have set the following goals in motion to help build and maintain a sense of community among providers and facilitate the growing interest in this unique medicine;
IFIP was founded in Sayulita, Mexico in March of 2009 at the First International Treatment Providers Conference.
Howard S. Lotsof, 66, discoverer of the anti-addictive properties of Ibogaine, died of liver cancer on Sunday January 31, 2010 in Staten Island. IFIP would like to express gratitude and honor to Howard Lotsof for the 48 years of complete dedication to this cause and great service to the community of people with a drug dependence.
Express your condolence to his wife Norma and family here.

This website is hosted and developed by the International Center for Ethnobotanical Education, Research & Service - ICEERS, a non-profit organization dedicated to:
1. the promotion and dissemination of ethnobotanical knowledge and its applied, integrative practice in the interest of the intellectual, practical and spiritual advance of society. Our aim is to marshal the forces of ancient indigenous ethnobotanical knowledge and modern therapeutic practice in the search for new directions in the evolution of contemporary society.
2. the continuance of the indigenous cultures, pioneers in the use of psychoactive plants from antiquity on, the support of their survival, and swift cessation of the progressive destruction of their habitat, including the rainforests, worldwide.
ICEERS is currently working on an interactive internet platform that will be launched in the near future. For more info visit www.iceers.org.
